Ken Attenhoffer's Photos;
Page Eight
This photo is of the letter written by Herrick Brown to Ken's parents after
Ken applied for a job at the Lodge. The letter speaks for itself.

Postcard featuring an aerial view of the Lodge
This is how the Lodge looked when I worked there in the early 1960's.
In the front center is a large building with two wings, four windows on the
end, and people standing in front of the building. The central part of
this building is the dining room. The left wing ( only partially visible )
is the kitchen and the right wing is the bedroom for the Brown family. The
small building to the left of the dining room/kitchen/family quarters is a
one-room cabin used by the cook. To the right of this main building,
mostly hidden behind a tree, is the crew quarters and "radio shack."
In the center of the photo, on a terrace elevated above the dining room you
see, right to left: Woodshed with firewood stacked under the roof; the Old
Lodge; the New Lodge.
On the terrace behind the Old and New Lodge are the six single-room cabins,
numbered right to left 1 through 6.

LeConte Lodge brochure
I am not certain of the date, however, the brochure lists
"Herrick Brown, Owner & Operator." the Browns bought the Lodge from Jack
and Pauline Huff in 1961. I cannot read the handwritten notes on the
brochure but they seem to be a history of the Lodge.
